Key Message: Be kind to ourselves
Bloom | The Art Project came to a decision in the middle of a pandemic to transform a farmyard wall in Cavan, into something that would bring a smile to local residents. We hoped to bring about some hope, spirit, and joy to locals on their daily walks during what proved to be a very difficult time.
We took the opportunity once restrictions eased to come together to create the mural. It was a joint effort as fellow friends arrived to Cavan to take part in painting and picture taking. The community spirit that was in the air that day was both fun and comforting after a difficult few months
of isolation. Now, when locals go for their evening or morning walks, they can pass by the mural and be reminded that they are “lovely”. Gentle reminders to be kind to ourselves are important, especially when the world around us feels that little bit more scary.
