FOROIGE X BLOOM | THE ART PROJECT
Location: Foroige, Co. Meath
Key Message: Welcome to Foroige, there are so many activities and events that you can be a part of and everyone is welcomed.
A collaboration between Bloom | The Art Project and Foroige Navan to work with club members to create a mural that portrays all the activities that the club provides, the warm atmosphere within the club and the sense of community that exists.
Foroige exists nationwide and is a company that has young people at the heart of everything it does. Through their clubs they provide a safe space for young people to hang out, meet new friends, get involved in activities and have a voice.
As we are based out of Co. Meath, we were delighted to link up with the local Navan Club. From the minute we stepped into the building, we were kindly welcomed by the staff and could get a real sense of the care and warmth that the club fosters. We jumped straight into it and through a fun and interactive workshop the young people came up with ideas, symbols and activities that they wanted to see represented on the wall.
A couple of weeks later, we landed back ready to co-paint alongside some very enthusiastic and talented young people. We struck gold with the weather and spent most of the time painting in glorious streams of sunshine. They wizzed through the mural, enjoying the freedom of the spray paints and the therapeutic nature of painting while adding some extra details.
This was such a lovely project. Foroige are an amazing organisation and we are looking forward to working with them again in the future!
